Kokomo held on for a 60-54 victory over visiting Carmel on Tuesday evening. The Wildkats jumped out to an early 26-15 lead before Carmel used a barrage of three point field goals to close the gap. Half of the Greyhounds 54 points were from behind the arc, but Carmel shot just 33% from the field. The game saw four ties and nine lead changes, but Kokomo was able to hold on thanks to some crucial defensive stops down the stretch. Kelly Hopkinds and Sklylarr Shurn led Kokomo with 17 points each while Abby Hemmeger added 15 points. Torrie Thornton led the Greyhounds with 17 points and eight rebounds. The Wildkats remained unbeaten with the win, improving to 9-0 on the season. Both teams will enjoy a break over the holiday season before resuming play in 2010.
